Did you know?
Each full moon has its own special name…
We will begin our cruise, while waiting for the moon to rise, from the spectacular Parga Bay. On one side of the settlement stands the Venetian Castle and on the other the Napoleonic Castle. The island of Panagia. In the entrance of Parga, with its charming little chapel on it seems like embracing the whole of Parga. And as they are lit they offer a wonderful view to the traveller.
The above picture is complemented by the two adjacent beaches of Parga. The vast cosmopolitan Valtos Beach, with its numerous visiting luxury yachts; and the Kryoneri Beach, where the scattered sea rocks try to hold off the fleeting waves.
We now let the moon lead us to Monolithos. A lone rock away from the shore with the peculiar chapel of St. Nikolas on it, who in the Greek tradition is the protector of sailors. The lone rock, constantly hit by the waves and offering shelter to restless seabirds, will turn into a majestic view when the rays of the full moon light it up in the darkness of the surrounding sea.
